Great Western Roads is a video series presenting some of my personal favourite motorcycling roads and routes in South Wales and south-west England. This began with the acquisition of a GoPro Hero5 Session action camera. I’ve been very impressed by this remarkable little device. The quality it produces is outstanding. Sadly this gets mangled by YouTube compression, so what you see here isn’t really representative.
Great Western Roads: 1. B4235 – The Road to Usk.
Just across the original Severn bridge, this south western corner of Wales offers some outstanding biking routes.
First up we follow the B4235, which is a great ride and a very popular road with bikers.
Running for approximately 12 miles between Chepstow and Usk in Monmouthshire it combines fantastic scenery with many challenging bends. It also leads eventually to Abergavenny – a focus point and meeting spot for bikes that sees hundreds assembling by the Oasis Snack Bar in the bus terminal car park. I’ll aim to cover that in another video.
If you’re curious, my bike is a Honda CBR600F.
